Seoul, Korea, 5 DECEMBER 2017, WeWork—the platform for creators that provides the space, community and services to help people make a life, not just a living—announced today that it will open its sixth and seventh locations in Korea, WeWork Yeouido Station at HP Building and WeWork Seoul Station at Seoul Square, during the first half of 2018. The two new locations will add space for 3,500+ new members and also increase WeWork Korea's space to a total of 10,000+ members.

With the HP Building a landmark office building in the traditional business district of Seoul, WeWork Yeouido Station’s location in the city’s epicenter of finance will fortify its reach in central Seoul. The new location, a 1-minute walk from Yeouido Station, will span across seven floors and accommodate around 1,200 members. With two subway lines, lines 5 and 9, intersecting at Yeouido Station, and a key bus interchange nearby, the new location has prime accessibility for WeWork members to reach every business district in Seoul.

WeWork’s seventh location, WeWork Seoul Station, will be located at Seoul Square, a central office building near Seoul Station. Occupying 3.5 floors and accommodating around 2,300 members, Seoul Square is also situated next to the Seoul Station which serves the highest number of passengers in Korea. Coupled with being adjacent to the Culture Station Seoul 284, a former Seoul Station building utilized in the early 20th century, WeWork Seoul Station will be firmly rooted in a symbolic place signifying Seoul’s modern history.

“Since August 2016, WeWork Korea has achieved noticeable success in Seoul, and we believe that this achievement will be accelerated with a stronger community and enhanced diversity,” said Matthew Shampine, General Manager, Korea at WeWork. “The opening the WeWork Yeouido Station and WeWork Seoul Station in Korea’s landmark buildings signifies WeWork’s presence in Korea, and we will continue our efforts in building a stronger WeWork community and driving further business opportunities in Korea.”

With the Gangbuk area’s enhanced diversity, WeWork’s new locations will be bridging all major business districts of Gangbuk and accelerate its efforts in strengthening a wider reach in Seoul’s community. With WeWork Euljiro, the largest WeWork location in Asia, and the upcoming three locations, WeWork Gwanghwamun, WeWork Yeouido Station, and WeWork Seoul Station, WeWork Korea will continue its commitment in vitalizing the city’s business ecosystem.

With WeWork’s mission ‘to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living,’ WeWork plays a pivotal role in the changing shifts towards conventional workspaces by humanizing the way people live and work by creating meaning in work. In addition, traditional enterprises and global companies operating in Korea, such as Amore Pacific and Microsoft, are also on board as WeWork members.
