SK Telecom has made a US$4.3m (KRW 5b) into MCN (Multi Channel Network) operator Treasure Hunter. Treasure Hunter is the creator and operator of famous and popular channels such as YangDding (YG Gaming Channel), Aligator and Eve Kim. The investment is expected to boost the Hotzil channel which was launched on the 9th November as a channel for music, live and entertainment mobile video.
SK Telecom highlighted their aim in improving the quality of produced MCN content through operation of their top creator incubator program. Already through the program famous creators have shared their content creation know how with Treasure Hunter and Video Village in the form of seminars. There are plans to encourage creation of top contents through video content contests.
The winner of this year's SK Telecom video content contest is expected to be announced in their third seminar to be held on the 27th November. Based on the successes of the program this year, the creator incubator program is expected to continue next year.
