On the 23rd November, the acquisition of Padang, a service providing mobile beauty information in Korea (operated by Gentle Family) acquired by Vanity Trove of Singapore, a startup specializing in beauty related information and operation of contents community.
Padang was founded by four members with the aim of providing information of beauty shops in Seoul including any promotions, appointments, location, additional information, and customer reviews. Since starting in April 2015, the company had over 150 beauty businesses by October and expanded from servicing Seoul to servicing all parts of Korea.
Vanity Trove has been successful as they are “driven by action and determination and through this investment, there is a great opportunity to capture the south east Asian market and the broader Asian market in a relatively short period of time”.
Anh Sung Jun from Gentle Family said, “Through this acquisition, we will aim at expanding in the beauty market quicker”. “We will leverage our synergy with Vanity Trove to expand into Malaysia, China and Japan”.
