Odd Concept received $860k investment from KB Investment

Odd Concept, a startup specializing search engine for video content has US$860k (KRW 1b) from KB Investment. The company was founded in 2012 and has developed online technology for video content searches. The company has used the technology to link offline shopping businesses to create an unique O2O market.

Kim Jung Tae from Odd Concept commented, “Till now, we have not actively promoted or marketed Odd Concept, but through this investment our plans are to create a better brand identity”. “Our soon to be released, image search engine based commerce platform will help establish this identity”.

A representative from KB investment commented, “E-commerce will continue to be among the largest markets and bridging technologies that link online to offline channels will lead new market growth”. “We have high hopes for Odd Concepts technology that matches contents to the interest of a user”.

Odd Concept application of computer vision and machine learning in image search technology surpasses the spectrum of foreign competitor companies. The key difference in Odd Concept’s technology is its self-developed search that enables large scale searches to be conducted.
