With over 40 million downloads of the Cooliris 3D Wall and over 100,000 daily activations of the Android Gallery application, Cooliris is a leader in this space. Japanese mobile phone operator NTT Docomo Inc's venture arm has a stake in Cooliris, which recently sold AdJitsu, one of its divisions to SingTel. Headquartered in Palo Alto, Cooliris is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures, The Westly Group, T-Venture, and DOCOMO Capital.
Cooliris's current core consumer product is LiveShare, a real-time media sharing application for mobile and web that makes it easy for groups to share privately or publicly. LiveShare is a freemium rich media communication service for mobile and web that combines the best of free messaging and photo sharing into one app. It lets you share unlimited text messages, photos, locations, and more in shared conversations with groups or individual friends.
On the response LiveShare has got in Korea, Derek Tan from Cooliris said “Response in Korea has been good. I can't disclose specific numbers here but LiveShare has been growing organically on both iPhones and Android in Korea. What surprises me is that we do not have a partner pushing or helping us with evangelizing the application thru marketing or press, and the numbers are still very strong”. “We did have our partners like Google and Samsung help us feature LiveShare on their global app stores and these efforts have helped raised awareness of LiveShare in the respective stores.”
Today they announced the launch of a new LiveShare for Android messaging application. The new LiveShare for Android leverages the user’s Interaction Graph to create a more efficient way to communicate with those who matter the most to them. With its deeper integration with Facebook and the device’s address book, LiveShare enables users to invite their friends and interact more visually in real-time.
They will be launching the all-new Cooliris soon for mobile platforms. People can sign up at cooliris.com to get notified when it is released.
