LG To Launch Second Series Of L3, L5 and L7 Models: Is LG Catching Up With Samsung?
2013년 02월 20일

According to the market research company Gartner Inc., LG was the world’s fifth-largest handset maker last year, with a 3.3% market share. Is this about to change in the next couple of years however?

LG Electronics have sold more than 15 million units of its third-generation “Optimus L” phones (L3, L5, L7 and L9 models) globally since the launch of L3 in March 2012.

The L series, compared to Samsung's Galaxy series, is noted for its rectangular design and third-generation connectivity. They have been launched in 50 countries internationally with a major market in Asia, Europe and in North/South America.

This year, LG plans to promote a follow-up series of the line-up in these continents without a high long-term evolution penetration. They will reveal the second series of the L3, L5 and L7 models at the Mobile World Congress 2013. It will be interesting to see how they change the dynamics, considering LG's success with OLED panels.
