Korean guesthouse accommodation startup Jienem receives Angel Club investment

Jienem, a guesthouse accommodation service specialist and catering for Chinese tourists has received an investment of US$200k (KRW 240m) from Angel Club an Accredited Investor (AI). In August last year, the company also received an early stage investment from specialist China marketing company, ‘On China’.

Jienem provides an easy accommodation booking service that allows users to select accommodation in the categories of fashion, glamping, traditional Korean house, lodges, and boutique guest houses.

Jienem launched their service in December and has a network of over 300 guest house locations. In 2016 the company is expected to launch their Android application to increase the convenience for in-bound tourists.

Lee Jun Ho from Jienem commented, “Through this investment we will increase the number of guest house location in Korea as well as commence guest house associations in Japan. Our aim is to be the specialist in guest house accommodation with plans to use our guesthouse expertise to offer a business franchise option”.

Choi Song Ho from Angel Club commented, “The number of users selecting guesthouses as their preferred accommodation is increasing each year. We expect this trend to continue and provide growth for Jienem”.
