Mobile digital homework diary service ‘I Am School’ has secured US$2.1m (KRW 2b) investment from LB Investment.
I Am School is Korea’s first mobile homework diary service that captures 99% of the almost 63,000 bulletin boards used by 11,500 schools. Within 2 years of release, more than 1.3 million users subscribed to the service. The majority of the app downloaders were parents over 40 years of age; an age group that typically has a low app download demographic. Of the app users, more than 80% return on a daily basis.
I am School will utilize the investment to develop a service which will provide parents information related to the education of their children. The company has aims to become more than a mobile homework diary with plant to provide educational contents that will be recommended to an individual’s educational information and requirements. The potential growth in Asia is also in plans for the future.
Recently the company opened an office in Taiwan, and within two months more than 20% of the primary schools in Taipei were observed to have downloaded the app. This result boasts a growth speed twice that of Korea.
Jun In Mo from I Am Company the operator of I Am School said, “I Am School’s aspiration is to become a school homework diary service provider that is loved by our users in Korea and Asia”.
