On the 23rd August, Soft Bank Ventures confirmed their decision to invest into Brave Company is an internet publishing company. This investment is worth US$670k made up of $420k from Capstone Ventures and $250k from Soft Bank Ventures.
Brave Company was formed in 2012 with the purpose of providing a platform optimised for the purposes of online lectures and learning materials. The purpose developed platform professionally organises lecture materials and courses.
Among its top internet lectures include,‘DongHeoJeop English School’ specializing in english for public servants, and ‘Doctor Bocar’ an english vocabulary memorization course. Another course gaining attention is OPIc course ‘Confident Speaking’. This course was launched in the second half of last year, in a response to stricter organisational grading standards.
This year, there are plans to launch 3 additional brands that will offer internet platform lectures.
Lee Eun Woo from Soft Bank Ventures who managed this investment said, “Brave company has both the required technical and marketing skill for an online learning business”. “Future content will feature the characteristics and success stories of instructors and will revitalise the online education trend”.
Yang Seung Yoon a representative from Brave Company said “through this investment we will continue to expand the internet lecture platform business, and there are plans to expand into O2O (online to offline) course services”.”In order to successfully launch the various different brands, we have plans to secure excellent talent”.
