On September 16, the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) opened the ‘Born Global Startups’ (forgive the slightly dodgy name) project at the Future Global Business Start-up Support Center in Seoul. The twenty selected teams, three accelerators and two business incubation centers participated in the event.
The aim is to support startups with strategy and to attract investment. The program will also finance three Korean incubators including Venture Square (teamed up with Plug and Play), SpakLabs (teamed with the Global Startup Network), and RJ Communications (with a Fashion Technology Accelerator).
In addition Seoul’s Sogang University (with Standford University) and Hanyang University (with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and New York Institute of Technology) will start providing bridging courses tin the US for Korean students.
