Chinese Venture Capital (德同资本)company, DT Capital have followed other VCs in the recent trend for Korean beauty products, with an investments into B2Link. This is the fourth investment into the company following investments from DSC Investment in September last year and January this year and an investment from another Chinese company, KTM Network in September.
DT Capital have an impressive investment portfolio in over 200 global companies. Since being recognized by Forbes as the top Chinese Investor in 2006, the company has displayed their investment speciality through year on year growth.
With an investment capital of 10 billion Renminbi (KRW 1.7t, USD 1.5b), the company is actively investing into a wide range of startups from early stages to expansions of established businesses. Particularly in the US, DT Capital operate a large fund of capital with investments from Sam Walton, founder of Walmart and Goldman Sachs.
The founder of B2Link (Lee Jae Ho) is a co-founder of Memebox which specializes in Korean beauty and fashion products marketed throughout South East Asia. Memebox is also the operators of E-SCM a big data platform that services Chinese focused mobile commerce site Xinglala.
B2Link has recorded US$13.8m (KRW 16b) in sales revenue this year, and in the last year and a half, has grown to staff more than 100 employees. Recently, B2Link has been successful with signing a three-year agreement to provide their services to China’s leading offline health and beauty product provider, Watsons. This agreement is expected to be worth a staggering US$155 million (KRW 180b).
Lee Jae Ho from B2Link commented, “Receiving this investment from China’s largest investor will bring stability and provide diverse strategy options for China localization. We feel fortunate to have met the ideal investment partner”.
Brian Yang, the representative from DT Capital leading this investment commented, “For the growing Asian beauty market, we have high expectations for B2Link. This investment has provided DT Capital an opportunity to provide B2Link with funding, utilize out networks and assist in their plans for entering the Chinese market”.
