In the build up to beGLOBAL we have introduced some top names in the business with an emphasis on VCs and entrepreneurs. Now it’s time to introduce the people who will be speaking on behalf of the third important group, namely the accelerators. We’re joined by some of the crème de la crème of the top Silicon Valley accelerators, namely Y Combinator, Boost VC, 500 Startups and BootstrapsLabs. As we did with the Seed Funds Going Global Panel, we’re going to divide this introduction in two parts. First up is Kevin Hale from Y Combinator and Adam Draper from Boost VC.

Kevin Hale

Kevin Hale is a partner at Y Combinator, which provides seed funding to startups. He works with their portfolio of companies on user experience design, product development and customer support. In 2006, he co-founded Wufoo, which was one of the earliest Y Combinator funded startups. Having gone the seed-funding route, Hale is someone who has walked the walk. With his Korean background and previous judging roles at Startup Battle Korea, he’s considered a well-trusted source on the Korean startup ecosystem.

Adam Draper

Adam Draper, who’s also speaking with his father and grandfather in the Fireside Chat with 3 Generations of Global Venture Capitalists at beGLOBAL have recently been in the news because of his subpoenaed Bitcoin startup accelerator Boost VC. Founded in 2012, the San Mateo, California-based Boost VC started investing in Bitcoin companies this March and even then acknowledged the “Wild West” nature of the young currency. Adam has invested in companies such as Path, Airtime and MinoMonsters, and sits on the board of four companies. Adam has two goals in life: one is to help every entrepreneur find their mission in life and the other is to build an Iron Man suit.

The pair will be joined onstage by Christine Tsai (500 Startups) and Ben Levy (BootstrapLabs) for a conversation regarding Korea’s road map to being a region for innovation and enterprise excellence in the tech sector.
