ZeroWeb is a local network mobile platform developed for small to medium business people. Recently it received an investment amount of US$2.6m from GS Home Shopping. This brings their half year investment total to almost US$6m. Back in March, Posco Technical Investments and BK Investments each invested US$2.9m for a combined US$5.8m series A investment. Series A investments of this magnitude in Korea is considered extremely high.
ZeroWeb plans on using this investment to accelerate its market lead in mobile platforms and to advance its services to better serve the needs of small to medium business people. Within three (3) years their target is to implement an advanced mobile platform to service the demands for 1 million users.
With its dedicated O2O channel, ZeroWeb allows smartphone homepages to easily provide payment options like 'Pay Now' and 'Kakao Pay'. Similar to Fintech’s core market, it can provide greater business value through affiliate stores. The future of the platform as web traffics increase, is as extension into local advertisements that are categorised by region, industry and network usage.
Lee Jae Hyun the representative of Zero Web, said that their aim was "to create a mutual platform that provides active communication between B2B and B2C through smartphones connected to a local network".
In June, ZeroWeb participated in the event ‘Create Startup Korea 2015’ which congregates major Venture Capitals from around the world. During this event Zero Web received attention from many oversea investors who saw the potential for the business to grow internationally.
