Creatrip, a platform where local tourism courses and information can be accesses has succeeded in attaining a US$172K (KRW 200m) investment from KAIST Venture Investment. The platform is aimed at foreign visitors that prefer to freely travel domestically after gathering and assessing the available local tourism information.

After releasing the Chinese language based open beta version in February, the platform is being serviced in Taiwan and Hong Kong where a high proportion of tourists prefer organizing their own travel. The simplified Chinese and English versions of the platform are expected to be released in the near future.

Lim Hae Min from Creatrip commented, "The platform is not simply a translation of tourism information that is already available but information that has been directly acquired and tailored to suit the needs of foreign visitors. The vertical search engine allows local tour information to be searched systematically and in the future an algorithm providing suggestions will be added".

Creatrip is among companies selected by Tourism Korea and has won the  SALAD Award by Kakao at the 'SCVA Social Venture' event. The company partners with local tourism businesses to create meaningful and unique travel information.
